Fruitadens haagarorum

Fruitadens Skull: The Pint-Sized Powerhouse of the Late Jurassic

About 150 million years ago, in what is now Colorado, Fruitadens haagarorum scurried through the undergrowth of the Late Jurassic. This tiny heterodontosaur was one of the smallest known dinosaurs, with adults measuring just over 2 feet long and weighing less than a house cat! Despite its size, it was a nimble and adaptable herbivore–omnivore, using a mix of leaf-cutting and meat-snipping teeth to enjoy a varied diet.

Our Fruitadens skull kit brings this miniature marvel to life, showing its lightweight jaw, specialized teeth, and big-eyed skull that gave it a keen awareness of its surroundings. Perfectly suited for darting between the legs of larger dinosaurs, Fruitadens haagarorum proves that being small could be a big advantage in the age of giants.
